The different kinds

Yoga, detox, silence, thermal, cold water: what each is really for.
Wellness is not one thing, and this section is where people compare the very different animals filed under it: the gentle yoga week, the demanding silent course, the thermal soak, the cold plunge that half the room swears by and half regards as a punishment.

Sorting the substance from the sales pitch
The most useful threads here are the ones that separate what a format genuinely does from what it is sold as. Detox weeks draw the sharpest exchanges, because the rest and lighter diet are real and pleasant while the story about flushing out toxins is not; the detox retreats guide sets out that honest split.
At the other end, the thermal and sauna threads are some of the calmest on the board, full of people comparing hot springs, steam and cold water and the simple, well-evidenced pleasure of heat. If that is the corner that appeals, thermal spas and hot springs covers what the heat does and the sensible cautions that come with it.
Whatever format tempts you, the room's standing rule holds: wellness is not medical care, and nothing described here replaces your own doctor's view on what is safe for you.
