Ingrid Sollberger, Physiotherapist; spa & wellness consultant
Spa & Wellness Consultant
Ingrid Sollberger trained first as a physiotherapist and spent the second half of her career on the wellness side of hospitality, advising spas and retreats on their programmes and, quietly, on the difference between a treatment that does something and one that only sounds as though it does. That clinical grounding is why she is here: wellness is a field where a confident claim and an evidence-based one are easily mistaken for each other, and telling them apart is most of the job.
She fact-checks the health and safety claims on this site. Where an article describes what a sauna, a fast, a massage or a cold plunge actually does to the body, her role is to keep it honest: to hold it to what the evidence supports, to strip out the language of miracle cures, and to make sure the sensible cautions are in place for readers who are pregnant, older, or managing a health condition. She writes none of the guides and endorses no retreat or brand named in them. Wellness is not medical care, and nothing reviewed here replaces speaking to your own doctor.
